Some Updates

Brian Campbell to the Blackhawks. Probably the biggest deal to go down so far, the biggest one to affect the Rangers.

Some reports out of Canada are suggesting that Jagr may wind up with Pittsburgh, and Hossa with Edmonton. With Malone off the market already, the Rangers are looking at a sudden drop in talent in the Free Agent pool. Though none of these rumors may come to fruition, I'm getting anxious for the Rangers to do something good.

So far, the Rangers have brought in three players: F Aaron Voros from Minnesota (26 yo), C Patrick Rissmiller from San Jose (29 yo), and F Andreas Jamtin from the Swedish Elite League (25 yo).

It appears the Rangers are preparing for Sean Avery to sign elsewhere. These three guys all represent the stereotypical grinder in the NHL. Jamtin is the most complete player, combining grit with flash. Voros and Rissmiller bring great size and toughness.

These moves help the Rangers, but they need to fill their holes on defense and scoring forward. Re-signing Roszival would be a great start.

More to come as this blog gets the info.
